This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Lead and nurture the Colombia Finance team, which includes one local Finance assistant.
• Oversee accounting and financial reporting functions for AVEVA’s legal entity in Colombia.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Review and supervise general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate and address complex or unusual accounting issues.
• Ensure that balance sheet accounts are reconciled, supported, and reviewed appropriately.
• Coordinate the preparation of local statutory accounting and financial statements.
• Manage and monitor Colombian tax compliance and related accounting issues.
• Collaborate with internal Tax teams and external tax advisors.
• Facilitate and support internal and external audits.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with AVEVA policies, SOX requirements, and local regulations.
• Identify and escalate risks related to accounting, tax, finance, operations, and compliance.
• Work with Treasury on local banking, cash management, payments, and treasury activities.
• Partner with Commercial Finance, Sales, and other stakeholders regarding finance matters for the Colombian entity.
• Assist in revenue recognition and other accounting evaluations.
• Collaborate with regional and global Finance stakeholders.
• Drive process enhancements, standardization, and automation within Finance operations.
• Support regional Finance initiatives and projects.
• Strong background in accounting and financial reporting, with expertise in general ledger, balance sheet management, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Colombian accounting, statutory, and tax regulations.
• Proven experience in dealing with Colombian tax matters and interactions with tax authorities and/or external tax advisors.
• Experience in coordinating statutory audits, tax compliance, and external audit obligations.
• Experience in managing or supervising a Finance or Accounting team.
• Hands-on capability to investigate issues, comprehend underlying transactions, and resolve problems effectively.
• Ability to blend people management with direct engagement in accounting, tax, audit, and control functions.
• Strong grasp of internal controls, financial controls, and operational risk management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Capability to work independently, take initiative, make informed decisions, and escalate issues as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with local, regional, and global stakeholders.
• Ability to operate at both detailed technical and managerial levels.
• High integrity and dedication to compliance and ethical standards.
• Ability to thrive in a multinational and matrixed organization.
• Proficient or strong professional English language skills.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Good understanding of accounting standards and Colombian statutory reporting requirements.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including verification of work authorization and potentially educational qualifications, employment history, criminal records, identity, and credit checks.
• Preferred: experience in a multinational company, regional or global Finance organization, SOX/internal control environments, Oracle or similar ERP systems, and technology/software/subscription-based businesses.
• Professional accounting qualification in Colombia is preferred.
