Finance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of daily finance and accounting operations across various entities, with an emphasis on the US entity and compliance with US GAAP accounting standards.

• Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring that all reports and financial data are precise and current.

• Collaborate with external accountants, tax consultants, auditors, and other financial service providers as necessary.

• Develop and sustain financial reporting that encompasses revenue, expenses, cash flow, burn rate, runway, and overall financial health.

• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, including projections for revenue, expenses, staffing, cash requirements, and runway.

• Create and maintain financial models that support hiring, spending, pricing, fundraising, and strategic decision-making.

• Assist in designing and enhancing accounting and finance processes as the organization expands.

• Compile financial information and analyses for investors, fundraising initiatives, board presentations, and due diligence processes.

• Spot opportunities to automate repetitive finance workflows and enhance the quality and speed of financial reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Direct experience with US GAAP accounting (essential).

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles.

• Capable of managing the financial close and reporting processes independently.

• Ability to work autonomously and take full responsibility for the finance function without the need for a large supporting team.

• Experience in accounting or finance within a multi-entity or group company environment.

• CPA certification (highly advantageous).

• Background in international accounting (highly advantageous).

• Proven experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and burn/runway analysis (highly advantageous).

• Ability to construct simple dashboards and internal tools as needed (highly advantageous).

• Proficient in developing financial models from scratch and employing them to address real business questions (highly advantageous).

• Experience in establishing finance and accounting processes from the ground up (highly advantageous).
