Finance Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Vice President for Operations and Organizational Development, working closely with and supporting the outsourced Chief Financial Officer and President.

• Partner with Escalon to ensure timely preparation of monthly financial statements.

• Perform regular audits of budget items and analyze budget-to-actual performance across the organization, including programs and departments.

• Attend CCA Board Audit and Finance Committee meetings alongside the CFO to deliver financial oversight and reporting.

• Assist the CFO in creating reporting materials for the Audit and Finance Committee.

• Co-lead the annual budgeting process spanning all departments and programs.

• Develop and oversee departmental grants and budgets specific to those grants.

• Monitor budget performance versus actuals and conduct variance analysis.

• Supervise daily accounting operations, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.

• Prepare monthly reconciliations for accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with cash flow reports, statements of activities, and statements of financial position.

• Create and uphold financial policies and procedures, ensuring the segregation of duties and the protection of organizational assets.

• Act as the primary liaison with the Escalon Accounting Team and manage the daily partnership.

• Guarantee adherence to GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, including FASB net asset classification guidelines.

• Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds to ensure appropriate allocation.

• Co-manage the Grants and Contract Manager role to uphold restricted-fund compliance, maintain grant budgets, conduct funder financial reporting, and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Coordinate and co-manage the annual independent audit.

• Ensure compliance with IRS requirements, including the preparation and review of Form 990.

• Maintain adherence to state charitable registration requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks or similar software, and tools for budget creation and analysis.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance with at least 10 years of experience; or a relevant master’s degree or CPA with 5–7 years of experience.

• Occasional out-of-state travel is necessary.
