This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Accountable for preparing, developing, and overseeing both short- and long-term financial and liquidity planning, including rolling forecasts and scenario and variance analyses.
• Further enhancement of our controlling tools and the generation of regular financial analyses, KPIs, and reports to assist the Executive Management, leadership team, and Board in decision-making.
• Management of monthly closing procedures and supervision of preparatory accounting in close collaboration with operational departments and external tax advisors.
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments—from verification to the preparation of approval documents for payments to service providers and grant recipients.
• Coordination of the annual financial statements in conjunction with tax advisors and providing support during audits conducted by financial authorities and grant providers.
• Preparation of financial plans and cost assessments for grant applications, alongside ongoing financial monitoring of funded projects in close partnership with operational departments.
• Ensuring adherence to internal policies as well as to legal, nonprofit, and grant-related financial requirements.
• Expansion, documentation, and continuous improvement of finance, controlling, and grant management processes, along with the development of digital structures and workflows.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance, controlling, accounting, or grant management.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, liquidity management, and controlling, with experience in preparing forecasts, financial analyses, and management reports.
• Proficient in managing grants, including the preparation of financial plans, fund-use reports, and financial statements.
• Excellent skills in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar analytical and controlling tools.
• An analytical mindset with the capability to present financial relationships in a clear and comprehensible manner.
• Passion for enhancing finance and controlling processes and for actively influencing structures within a growing organization.
• High level of personal accountability and a structured, reliable, and independent working style.
• Strong communication abilities, a team-oriented approach, and enjoyment in collaborating across various departments.
• Proficient in German (written and spoken) and good command of English.
