Finance Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Process invoices from suppliers and address any related queries.

• Manage employee expense claims and transactions made with company cards.

• Prepare payment runs for suppliers for review and approval by the Finance Manager.

• Keep accurate records of suppliers and maintain supporting documentation.

• Generate and issue sales invoices.

• Assist with accounts receivable management and credit control activities.

• Monitor pending invoices and help resolve customer payment inquiries.

• Aid in the administration of timesheets, work-in-progress (WIP), and billing.

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations.

• Assist with routine balance sheet reconciliations.

• Maintain precise records in Xero and Kantata, ensuring system upkeep and data integrity checks.

• Prepare month-end schedules along with supporting documentation.

• Provide assistance with general finance administration and other ad-hoc tasks.

• Collaborate closely with the broader Finance team and colleagues throughout the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or a comparable finance position.

• Hands-on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Background in a professional services or consultancy setting.

• Proficiency in conducting bank reconciliations and routine balance sheet reconciliations.

• Experience in supporting month-end finance procedures.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to meet recurring deadlines.

• Strong communication skills for interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Competency in Excel and confidence in using finance systems.

• Familiarity with Xero is preferred.

• Experience with Kantata or a comparable professional services/project management system is advantageous.

• Availability to work 25 hours per week, preferably over five shorter days.
