Field Technician – Fly In, Fly Out

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Gather both manual and automated readings from instrumentation.

• Perform data verification, reduction, and analysis.

• Assist in the installation, testing, calibration, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of geotechnical instruments as well as the permanent automated data acquisition system, including MIMS.

• Maintain, calibrate, and operate equipment related to instrumentation tasks.

• Support documentation efforts, which include installation reports, as-built drawings, and commissioning records.

• Submit data and documentation in alignment with the customer GIS Standard.

• Follow and contribute to the development of installation procedures and execution plans.

• Aid in commissioning, repairing, decommissioning, and related geotechnical instrumentation activities.

• Collaborate effectively with the Project Manager, Engineer, and Supervisor.

• Comply with stringent safety protocols.

• Monitor a new dam structure through maintenance, troubleshooting, and data collection.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.

• Experience in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or as an electrical technologist with a proven track record in instrumentation.

• Preferred eligibility to register with ASTTBC.

• Familiarity with geotechnical site investigations is preferred.

• Strong commitment to safety.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Willingness to work in a remote location on a rotational schedule.

• Ability to work outdoors for extended durations in extreme weather conditions.

• Must comply with the drug and alcohol policy and successfully pass drug and alcohol testing prior to employment.

• Must not require Orica immigration sponsorship at any point now or in the future.
