This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver technical assistance for FAA programs and systems, including FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others.
• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventive maintenance on networking and telecommunications equipment at customer remote sites.
• Operate remotely in scheduled and on-call roles at customer locations within the designated area.
• Occasionally travel to remote sites beyond the assigned area to fulfill FAA customer requirements.
• Read, comprehend, and adhere to equipment schematics and task orders.
• Document notes and record the work completed and events occurring at customer sites.
• Collaborate with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to address field issues.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, inventory of parts/electronics, truck stock, and personal or company vehicle.
• Prepare for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
• Work outside of regular hours when necessary to meet customer demands.
• Coordinate with the supervisor/ASL to ensure compliance with L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures.
• Commute daily to and from both indoor and outdoor customer remote locations within the designated area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-Secondary/Associates Degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining an FAA security clearance.
• A valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record are required as conditions of initial and ongoing employment.
• Experience with fiber optics, Carrier Ethernet, multiplexers, DACS, routers/switches, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, and Voice and Data applications.
• Proficient in handling cable connectors and replacements, including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC, and 50 pin Amphenol.
• Knowledgeable in AC/DC power testing; including 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies, backup power supplies, UPS systems, and site grounding.
• Experienced in logging into network equipment and conducting circuit tests using various test equipment/laptops.
• Familiar with Bell Core Standards, analog 2-wire/4-wire testing, digital DSX1/T1, DSX3/T3, RS232/RS530, Carrier Ethernet RFC, and IP interface testing.
• Experienced in using Viavi 5800, JDSU HST3000, DataScout, Ameritech AM5XT, digital oscilloscopes, Halcyon 704A, Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer, and other T1/DS3 test sets.
• Knowledgeable in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on backup generators.
• Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite.
• Experienced in working remotely with Network Operation Control Centers.
• Skilled in interfacing and communicating directly with customers.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Capable of functioning in high-stress and high-visibility environments.
• Able to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Willing to support customer needs after hours/on-call.
• Experience in a Telco central office environment.
• Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 ft.
