Field Technician C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support for FAA programs and systems such as FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others.

• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment at customers’ remote sites.

• Operate remotely in both scheduled and on-call roles at client locations within the designated area.

• Travel to remote locations beyond the assigned area as necessary to meet FAA customer demands.

• Read, comprehend, and adhere to equipment schematics and task orders.

• Document work performed at client sites and take detailed notes.

• Address field issues by collaborating directly with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone.

• Manage tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicles.

• Prepare in advance for designated tasks prior to dispatch.

• Comply with L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures alongside the supervisor/ASL.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and uphold a satisfactory driving record as conditions for initial and ongoing employment.

• Capability to obtain and retain an FAA Public Trust Security Clearance.

• Proficient in reading, comprehending, and following equipment drawings and task orders.

• Strong administrative skills for effective note-taking and documentation.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 100% of the time to remote locations within a 3-hour drive radius of the base location, as well as outside the assigned region when necessary.

• Ability to work outside regular hours and be on-call when required.

• Capacity to lift items up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 ft.

• Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+.

• Preferred knowledge of cable connectors including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449.

• Preferred familiarity with fiber, multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, Private Line, and voice/data applications.

• Preferred understanding of AC/DC power testing, including 3 Phase AC, and 24VDC/48VDC power supplies.

• Preferred experience with T1, DS3, BERT, and Analog VG network/circuit testing to Bell Core standards.

• Preferred experience using JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscopes, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope, or similar T1/DS3 test equipment.

• Preferred knowledge and experience in configuring routers and switches in IP-based environments.
