This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Assist in research and data collection activities related to row crops, rangeland, timber, and other fields.
• Travel across the country to designated field sites and gather precise field data.
• Collaborate with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and other stakeholders to facilitate property access and field operations.
• Perform physical soil sampling in accordance with established guidelines.
• Utilize hand-operated and automated sensor equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to protocols for sampling, safety, data quality, equipment handling, and field operations.
• Record essential field data, activities, and sample details accurately.
• Manage and transport company-supplied field equipment effectively.
• Safely operate, load, unload, and transport trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and other assigned machinery.
• Prepare, label, package, and dispatch samples to specified laboratories.
• Relay updates on assignment progress, field conditions, equipment concerns, and other pertinent information to the Operations Manager and internal teams.
• Fulfill production, quality, safety, and equipment maintenance requirements.
• Support fellow technicians and partners in resolving equipment issues, sampling, data collection, and workflow inquiries.
• Assist in training and onboarding Field Technicians and partners on field protocols, equipment usage, safety measures, sampling procedures, and data quality standards.
• Must currently reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, or Colorado.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.
• Experience with physical labor in outdoor settings and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds.
• Proficient in capturing data accurately, particularly through soil sampling.
• Experience in operating, loading, unloading, and transporting vehicles, trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and company equipment.
• Competent in using trailers or towing equipment.
• Capability to work independently while traveling, including extended stays of up to 10 days.
• Proficient in operating laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other electronic devices.
• Experience in farming, rangeland, timber, or field research is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to navigate challenging off-road terrain using an SBS/UTV is preferred but not mandatory.
• Hourly pay for travel time.
