Field Service Technician – Remote, Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Install, test, and maintain electrical control systems, which include PLCs, sensors, actuators, and associated equipment.

• Offer on-site troubleshooting and repair services.

• Diagnose intricate technical problems.

• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams effectively.

• Conduct inspections of equipment and systems to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.

• Execute preventative maintenance on mechanical components and electrical control systems.

• Provide training to customers and offer technical advice.

• Document service activities through various forms, reports, logs, and records.

• Uphold high standards of customer service and adhere to service management principles.

• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.

• Travel extensively, approximately 75%-85%, to customer sites throughout the US and occasionally internationally.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is required; an Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of Field Service experience in the mechanical, electrical, or automation sector.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, and P&ID/PFD diagrams.

• HVAC systems certification is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI software (Rockwell) is preferred.

• Knowledge of VFD setup and troubleshooting is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to travel 75%-85% across the US and occasionally internationally.

• Capability to lift and move 50 pounds or more.

• Ability to climb ladders and access confined spaces.

• Frequent activities include stooping, kneeling, bending, standing, and walking.
