Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and associated equipment.

• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health evaluations.

• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring adherence to NEC, AHJ, and utility regulations.

• Employ diagnostic tools including multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging devices.

• Keep precise service records, inspection reports, and photographic documentation.

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and fall protection measures.

• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as necessary.

• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers about system status and repair suggestions.

• Represent Otovo in a professional manner at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• A minimum of 4 years of electrical experience.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

• Strong knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection standards.

• Capability to read electrical schematics and technical diagrams.

• Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools.

• Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops.

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Openness to local travel and willingness to work overtime as required.

• State-mandated electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).
