Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Assist in the installation, upkeep, repair, and enhancement of Illumina instrument systems

• Diagnose technical problems and offer on-site support to clients

• Aid in the coordination of service requests and strive for effective, timely solutions

• Support the installation of new instruments, which includes facility inspections and instrument validation

• Manage an appropriate inventory of service parts to ensure successful customer interventions

• Collaborate with sales and marketing colleagues regarding new system placements, upgrades, and contract renewals

• Foster strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

• Engage in departmental projects while expanding technical knowledge and experience

• Work in partnership with Service & Support, Applications, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Quality teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Entry-level engineering role

• Recently obtained an MSc degree in a relevant Engineering field, OR a BSc degree with some applicable field experience

• Background in engineering or a related technical discipline

• Interest in hands-on troubleshooting and working with intricate instrumentation

• Familiarity with optics and lasers

• Knowledge of Linux, networked systems, or general IT is a plus

• Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities

• Capability to stay organized and calm while addressing issues

• Collaborative attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn

• Must reside in Italy

• A valid driving license in Italy is required

• Willingness to travel up to 80%

• Proficiency in both Italian and English is necessary

• Candidates located in Campania or Puglia are preferred, though applicants from other regions in Italy will be considered
