Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and associated equipment.

• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, which include panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health evaluations.

• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring adherence to NEC, AHJ, and utility standards.

• Employ multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging tools for diagnostics.

• Keep precise service records, inspection reports, and photographic documentation.

• Adhere to safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and fall protection regulations.

• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs promptly.

• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers about system status and repair suggestions.

• Represent Otovo in a professional manner at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Over 4 years of experience in the electrical field.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

• Comprehensive understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection regulations.

• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.

• Experience with electrical diagnostic tools.

• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops safely.

• Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime when necessary.

• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).
