Field Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Commission water treatment facilities by verifying that process equipment and control systems operate in accordance with specifications.

• Act as a liaison during the construction of water treatment plants, bridging communication between design engineering and construction teams.

• Offer technical guidance and support to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at their locations.

• Oversee external vendors and suppliers to guarantee that services and products align with project specifications and performance standards.

• Create standard operating procedures and log sheets for documenting and monitoring equipment performance.

• Develop and implement commissioning schedules and performance plans.

• Design and deliver both classroom and hands-on training for the operation and maintenance of process equipment.

• Engage in model reviews, engineering design discussions, and safety-in-design assessments.

• Conduct factory acceptance tests for control systems in collaboration with clients and designated representatives.

• Provide aftermarket services, including site inspections, equipment evaluations, and operator training.

• Uphold safety standards throughout all work activities.

• Generate technical reports for customer documentation and future outages.

• Utilize mathematical operations for water treatment chemistry calculations, ensuring test reliability, budgets, and monitoring time-and-material contract expenses.

• Address alignment challenges and compute plumb adjustments using principles of plane geometry and chemistry formulas.

• Identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw accurate conclusions.

• Execute PLC/HMI tasks and troubleshoot control systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Water Treatment sector.

• Strong emphasis on building customer relationships.

• Familiarity with or the capacity to learn about equipment and process startups related to VEOLIA WTS products and systems, including RO/ED, Ion Exchange, and Thermal technologies.

• Ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.

• Basic understanding of water treatment chemistry.

• Knowledge of structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, piping, welding specifics, and civil notations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Valid passport required.

• Willingness to travel extensively (70-80%, approximately 250 days/year) across North America and internationally.

• Valid driver's license is necessary.

• Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures is preferred.

• Experience in commissioning, construction, or services is desirable.

• Mechanical skills and competence, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, clients, and environments.

• Operational experience with water treatment equipment including reverse osmosis, Ion Exchange Systems, Hot Water Loops, and EDI.

• Competency in performing PLC/HMI tasks, including control system IO checkout, system networking, program upload/download, ladder logic, function blocks, troubleshooting code, and writing basic logic.

• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening.
