Field Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Commission water treatment plants and ensure that process equipment and control systems operate in accordance with specifications.

• Act as a construction liaison between design engineering and construction during the erection of plants.

• Provide technical guidance and support to customer representatives concerning installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer locations.

• Oversee external vendors and suppliers to guarantee that services and materials adhere to project specifications and performance standards.

• Create standard operating procedures and log sheets to document and monitor equipment performance.

• Develop and implement commissioning schedules and performance plans.

• Design and conduct classroom and hands-on training for the operation and maintenance of process equipment.

• Engage in model reviews, engineering design meetings, and Safety in Design assessments.

• Carry out factory acceptance tests for control systems with clients and client-designated representatives.

• Provide after-market services, including site and equipment inspections and operator training.

• Uphold safety standards while carrying out technical work.

• Prepare timely and precise technical reports for customer records and anticipated outages.

• Apply mathematical operations to water treatment chemistry calculations, test reliability and validity, budget analysis, and monitor Time & Material contract costs.

• Address alignment issues and compute plumb adjustment figures using plane geometry and chemistry formulas.

• Identify problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and assess designs and operations.

• Perform PLC/HMI tasks including control system I/O checkout, system networking, program uploads/downloads, ladder logic, function blocks, troubleshooting, and developing simple logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in the Water Treatment sector.

• Strong emphasis on customer relationships.

• Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and process startup related to VEOLIA WTS products and systems, including RO/ED, Ion Exchange, and Thermal technologies.

• Proven ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.

• Basic understanding of water treatment chemistry.

• Familiarity with structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, piping, welding specifics, and civil notations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Valid passport.

• Willingness to travel extensively (70-80% ~250 days/year) across North America and internationally.

• Valid driver's license.

• Experience in commissioning, construction, or services.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university or college.

• Mechanical expertise and knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret drawings.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, clients, and situations.

• Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures is preferred.

• Operating experience with water treatment equipment, including reverse osmosis (RO) systems, Ion Exchange Systems, Hot Water Loops, and EDI.

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening is required.
