Field Service Installation Representative – Mass Spectrometry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct preliminary inspections at sites, execute physical installations, assemble, level lines, and perform the initial setup of cobas i601 mass spectrometry systems and automated liquid-handling front-ends at various customer locations across the nation.

• Install and validate ultra-high vacuum pumps, atmospheric pressure ionization interface modules, supply lines for nitrogen and carrier gas, exhaust systems, and HPLC/UHPLC fluidic connections.

• Implement connectivity solutions for instruments, network interfaces, and software drivers to achieve comprehensive integration of the cobas i601 platform.

• Carry out initial physical alignments, conduct basic vacuum leak tests, perform fluidic pressure assessments, and execute mandatory technical service bulletins along with engineering modifications.

• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve issues related to mechanical, fluidic, gas-line, electronic, and IT connectivity.

• Collaborate with local Field Engineering Specialists and Field Applications Specialists to transition validated systems for assay implementation and facilitate user training.

• Travel nationally to customer laboratories throughout the United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma along with 2 years of technical schooling or equivalent military training (OR comparable work experience).

• A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the repair, servicing, or installation of complex electro-mechanical hardware, analytical/diagnostic instrumentation, software, or networking/wireless systems (or equivalent military experience).

• Experience or familiarity with complex laboratory fluidics, pneumatic/gas systems, or high-precision mechanical assemblies.

• Direct experience in installing or servicing complex laboratory systems (LC-MS/MS, analytical chemistry equipment, or high-throughput clinical diagnostic instrumentation).

• Preferred: Over 2 years of direct experience in the installation, servicing, or maintenance of mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), chromatography (HPLC/UHPLC), vacuum systems, or Roche clinical diagnostic analyzers.

• Preferred: Advanced understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, gas dynamics, ultra-high vacuum systems, and information technology.

• Preferred: Familiarity with basic chemistry, analytical chromatography, and the physical environments of clinical laboratories.

• Preferred: Strong mechanical skills, including the use of precision measurement tools, vacuum leak detectors, and gas flow meters.

• Preferred: Excellent customer service, organizational, time-management, and written/verbal communication skills.

• Candidates must reside in Texas (San Antonio), California, New Jersey (North), Atlanta (Georgia), or Salt Lake (Utah).

• 100% travel is required based on customer needs and demands.
