Field Service Commissioning Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Deliver fuel cell services during field dispatch visits.

• Safely operate a service vehicle.

• Develop daily workflows based on scheduled tasks and work independently.

• Oversee on-site preventive maintenance, repairs, testing, and diagnostic activities.

• Adhere to company procedures and protocols.

• Identify technical issues and apply suitable solutions.

• Collaborate with technical teams and share information throughout the organization.

• Meet customer access requirements.

• Maintain the service vehicle and inventory of spare parts.

• Establish and nurture positive customer relationships.

• Generate timely and detailed service reports.

• Carry out additional assigned responsibilities.

• Attend two initial training sessions lasting up to four weeks each in Sunnyvale, CA.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within the Service District.

• High school diploma with 6 years of experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields; OR a technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, or Electrician Certification in a technical field with 4 years of relevant industry experience; OR 5+ years of relevant commercial electrical experience combined with electrical-related military experience.

• Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.

• Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards.

• Previous experience with three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, or microprocessor-based control platforms.

• Proficient in using electrical/electronic testing and measurement equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and blueprints.

• Experience in performing equipment maintenance according to ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.

• Aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems.

• Capability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions.

• Capacity to regularly handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.

• Ability to reach, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.

• Proficient in using a ladder or step stool regularly.

• Willingness to facilitate 24x7 on-call duty and shift work as necessary.

• Ability to work alternative schedules, including one week per month from Wednesday to Sunday.

• Willingness to support overtime to meet quarterly goals.

• Ability to travel regularly throughout a large Service District and occasionally to other U.S. and international locations.

• Must maintain a good standing driving record.
