This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
β’ Conduct virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
β’ Assess property damage, evaluate liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
β’ Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and prepare estimates in a paperless setting.
β’ Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
β’ Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry authorities.
β’ Perform tasks autonomously with a direct effect on management decisions.
β’ Represent the company in a professional manner during public engagements.
β’ Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant stakeholders.
β’ Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.
β’ Promote safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic guidelines.
β’ Travel away from home for approximately 23 days when assigned to the Catastrophe team.
β’ Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
β’ A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
β’ Exceptional customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
β’ Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
β’ Strong oral and written communication skills.
β’ Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
β’ Familiarity with smartphones and relevant applications.
β’ A strong desire to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
β’ A valid driver's license and bondable status.
β’ Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
β’ Must reside in the greater Eugene, Oregon area and be an Oregon resident.
β’ Willing and able to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and work on rooftops multiple times per day.
β’ Comfortable working in tight, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
β’ Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams.
β’ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
β’ Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and typing in English.
β’ Willingness to commit to 1β3 catastrophe deployments per year.
β’ Capability to work in both field and home office settings while tolerating specified environmental hazards.
