This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Perform virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess the scale of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software to analyze claims-related damage and generate estimates in a paperless format.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies regarding theft, fraud, or arson incidents.
• Execute tasks independently, with the results directly influencing management outcomes.
• Represent the company in public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service skills, ideally gained in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Skilled in using smartphones and applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• Outgoing demeanor with the capacity to engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times each day.
• Ability to work in small, confined areas such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Capability to achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in English for speaking, reading, writing, and data entry.
• Ability to perform duties in uncontrolled outdoor environments and potentially hazardous settings.
• CAT team assignments require travel away from home for about 23 days; new hires should anticipate committing to 1–3 CAT deployments each year.
