Field Property Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.

• Evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damages and create estimates in a paperless setting.

• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.

• Notify relevant state and industry agencies about incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.

• Operate independently with work that directly influences management decisions.

• Represent the company in a professional manner during public interactions.

• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.

• Negotiate settlements with policyholders.

• Promote safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic guidelines.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Travel to and from the homes of policyholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Strong customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.

• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Competent in using smartphones and related applications.

• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be bondable.

• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.

• Candidates must reside in or near Hackensack, NJ.

• Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times a day.

• Capability and readiness to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.

• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.

• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• CAT team assignments necessitate travel away from home, typically lasting 2-3 days.

• Expected commitment of 1-3 CAT deployments annually.
