Claims Adjuster – Auto

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into automobile insurance claims on behalf of insurers or third parties.

• Collect pertinent information related to losses.

• Evaluate coverage and validate claims.

• Engage in communication with insured individuals and claimants.

• Draft reports and negotiate settlements effectively.

• Maintain clear and precise records within internal computer systems.

• Analyze and interpret policy language to ensure appropriate coverage application.

• Oversee billing for assigned files within designated timeframes.

• Foster strong working relationships with current clients.

• Participate in continuous training on industry developments, legislative updates, and trends.

• Assess needs and coordinate the assignment of mandates to field claims adjusters.

• Execute any other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess the claims adjuster license required in the relevant province.

• Acquire the necessary license in the local province or a combination of other provinces within six months of the hire date.

• Hold a four-year university degree or equivalent relevant claims-handling experience, or a two-year college diploma in a related field.

• Be enrolled in the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) program or possess the CIP designation.

• A Quebec claims adjuster license (AMF) is mandatory, or the ability to obtain one.

• Experience in managing commercial claims and/or holding a Quebec commercial claims adjuster license is considered a significant advantage.

• Successful completion of Sedgwick’s trainee program or prior experience with a third-party administrator (TPA), field claims adjusting, or an insurer.

• One to three years of experience in managing and settling claims.

• Experience in transportation/cargo claims is an asset.

• Strong claims-handling, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Advanced proficiency with computer tools, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web applications.
