This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Perform virtual and in-person investigations at the homes of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess losses, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a digital format.
• Analyze and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies of incidents involving theft, fraud, and arson.
• Execute duties autonomously, significantly influencing management outcomes.
• Represent the company in a professional manner during public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, lawyers, medical professionals, and other parties involved.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders to resolve claims.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Travel away from home for CAT deployments, typically lasting 2 to 3 weeks.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service skills, ideally gained in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly recommended and preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and related applications.
• A strong desire to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• An outgoing personality and comfort in engaging with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and investigators.
• A valid driver's license is essential.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Willing to take part in 1 to 3 CAT deployments each year.
• Willingness and capability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.
• Ability to work in small, confined spaces, such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and data entry in English.
