This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Perform both virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess the extent of losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies about incidents of theft, fraud, and arson.
• Execute responsibilities autonomously with a direct influence on management results.
• Uphold a professional representation of the company in public dealings.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Engage in negotiations with policyholders to resolve claims.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to the company's safety and ergonomic standards.
• Travel for catastrophe deployments when required, generally lasting around 23 days.
• Handle property damage claims throughout northern Alabama.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service experience, ideally within a retail context.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled with smartphones and various applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• An outgoing demeanor and readiness to engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and investigators.
• A valid driver's license and bondable status.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Previous experience in property damage claims is preferred; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
• Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Capacity to work in small, confined areas such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Competence in speaking, reading, writing, and keying information in English.
• Willingness to travel away from home for CAT deployments, generally for 23 days, and commit to 1–3 deployments annually.
