Field Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Qualify and technically accept AIXTRON (MO)CVD semiconductor equipment at customer locations.

• Act as a liaison between customers and various company departments throughout the acceptance process.

• Support process optimization and equipment maintenance post-technical acceptance.

• Provide training to customers on semiconductor equipment and related process topics.

• Implement equipment process recipes and parameters per customer specifications.

• Deliver sustainable process support to selected key and strategic customers.

• Coordinate customer sample evaluations on AIXTRON equipment at both customer sites and application labs.

• Define and document equipment process performance specifications tailored for customer applications.

• Assist Sales by providing demonstrations, technical information, and design insights.

• Support equipment installation, conduct technical system checks, and oversee commissioning.

• Analyze customer needs and requirements during after-sales operations.

• Participate in 24/7 customer service support coverage.

• Report and document failures and design issues, ensuring follow-up on solutions and validation.

• Analyze problems arising from customer inquiries.

• Maintain documentation of customer interactions, project files, technical information, and solutions.

• Provide headquarters with insights on process improvements.

• Keep personal tools and safety equipment in optimal condition.

• Stay updated with technology, training, and newly installed equipment components.

• Mentor less experienced employees and customer representatives.

• Uphold high customer satisfaction while representing company interests.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• BS, MS/ME, or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Electrical/Materials Engineering.

• Over 5 years of experience in (metal organic) chemical vapor deposition (MO)CVD technology/process or related semiconductor processing is highly desirable.

• More than 5 years of experience in compound semiconductor materials or related semiconductor/device characterization techniques is a plus.

• Proficient in using statistical analysis programs to gather and evaluate process data related to equipment performance specifications.

• Capability to write formal reports documenting field activities.

• Skill in delivering technical presentations to customers.

• Ability to learn semiconductor processing to assist customers with integration.

• Proficient in effective interaction and communication with Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, and other personnel.

• Ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies.

• Capable of working independently and analyzing and resolving process issues.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically up to 75% of the time.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Ability to work with hazardous chemicals according to safety procedures.

• Availability to work off-hours, including weekends, with shifts of up to 12 hours.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Willingness to participate in cleanroom contamination exposure prevention requirements, including the use of appropriate equipment such as SCBA.
