This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Guide customer decision-making and enhance population health through the analysis of real-world data, pharmacoeconomic evaluations, outcomes assessments, and medical presentations.
• Inform customers about the clinical and economic benefits of Pfizer medicines and products.
• Strategize and implement independent Medical initiatives and customer engagement within the designated territory.
• Create and execute medical account plans while representing Medical Affairs and conveying customer insights.
• Deliver objective, scientifically validated medical information using pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, educational programs, HOPEs, non-interventional studies, and collaborative efforts.
• Design and apply Real-World Evidence-based outcomes tools to enhance patient care, bridge quality gaps, and tackle population health management challenges.
• Address medical and scientific inquiries from customers regarding Pfizer products and various disease states.
• Present findings to payers, managed care organizations, formulary decision-makers, and regional medical advisory boards.
• Facilitate communication between regional and national healthcare organizations and the headquarters of Medical Affairs.
• Support Pfizer-sponsored collaborative, quality improvement, and non-interventional research initiatives.
• Provide medical assistance and guidance for Health Information Technology endeavors.
• Examine clinical healthcare information system workflows to minimize care gaps and enhance care efficiency and population health.
• Develop clinical content and innovative HIT tools and resources.
• Offer expertise on electronic data collection and planning for Field Medical colleagues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, design, and implement HIT solutions that align with Pfizer Medical objectives.
• Create internal and external tools, resources, and educational materials.
• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs in clinical and professional associations.
• Boost customer recognition through collaborative projects, publications, and healthcare awards.
• Review scientific literature, monitor competitive developments, and attend conferences.
• Work with Pfizer colleagues to understand customer outcomes and data analysis requirements.
• Manage multiple field-based projects, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Educate healthcare organizations about patient care gaps and guideline-based practices.
• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and cross-functional committees.
• Mentor and assist in the onboarding of partners.
• Maintain necessary training, professional licensure, and comply with applicable policies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a health science is required.
• A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree; more than 8 years with a master's degree; or over 6 years with a terminal doctorate degree.
• Experience in clinical, formulary, and/or other management areas.
• Background in managed care, the pharmaceutical industry, and/or quality improvement.
• Expertise in data analytics and/or HEOR, with strong methodological skills in study design, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Significant experience engaging with payers and other organized customers.
• Exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage multiple customer demands and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Diverse leadership experience with the ability to influence and collaborate with peers.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient comprehension and communication skills for conveying scientific information clearly and concisely.
• Capability to prioritize multiple demands and employ situational leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight trips.
• Ability to operate a Pfizer company vehicle with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must regularly fly and be within a 2-hour drive of a major airport.
• Flexibility to travel 40–50% of the time.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a compliant driving record; any DUI/DWI or other impaired-driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify candidates.
• Availability to occasionally work weekends.
• Candidates must reside in the New England region or be willing to relocate; preferred locations include Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Upstate New York.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. by any employer.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.
• Maintenance of professional licensure is required.
• Preferred qualifications: field-based medical/outcomes experience; healthcare data analysis; expertise in Clinical Informatics or HIT; completion of residency or fellowship; proficiency in Microsoft Access, statistical software, or data programming; knowledge of U.S. healthcare HIT applications; EHR optimization/customization; innovative project initiation and management; understanding of the U.S. healthcare system.
