This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Collaborate closely with a specific group of contract pork producers.
• Identify and resolve issues while providing solutions to enhance production.
• Cultivate customer relationships and document on-farm reports.
• Partner with the Business Manager to devise solutions and make decisions that affect area and business-unit profitability.
• Conduct farm visits, hold producer meetings, and disseminate information to optimize production.
• Oversee 20–25 producer sites, each with 50–100,000 pig spaces.
• Assist with maintaining producer relationships and managing contract renewals.
• Provide training to pork producers.
• Conduct audits for facility and environmental compliance, aiding producers in meeting regulations.
• Support producers in marketing their animals.
• Handle administrative tasks including pig conformance, feed budgets, and closeout processes.
• Mentor, train, and develop new farm managers.
• Uphold standards for animal welfare, environmental practices, medication/veterinary compliance, and bio-security.
• Help manage costs related to feed, supplies, and labor.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and data integrity.
• Coordinate and supervise special projects.
• Suggest operational enhancements.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager.
• Associate degree in Agriculture, Animal Production, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related discipline, or 5 years of equivalent experience in pork production is preferred.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Expected travel is approximately 80% during the day, with very limited overnight stays.
• Ability to motivate and inspire individuals to reach ambitious goals.
• Competency in problem-solving techniques.
• Understanding of overall business strategy and operational functions.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Capability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+ lbs.
• Completion of drug, alcohol, and background checks is mandatory post-offer and prior to employment commencement.
• Verification of employment eligibility is required by the end of the third workday.
