Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate effectively with Area Managers, Region Engineers, and Geopier licensee teams to deliver project-specific technical guidance for feasibility assessments and bidding processes related to Geopier design-build solutions.

• Work in conjunction with Area Managers to conduct engineering analyses and prepare design reviews.

• Generate or evaluate engineering calculations and set engineering direction on projects with minimal supervision.

• Assist the Design Center review team by conducting slope stability and other geotechnical analyses to develop RAP designs.

• Help resolve construction challenges and design-related issues.

• Assess and approve Rammed Aggregate Pier (RAP) and other system designs.

• Create and present technical presentations at both internal and external meetings and workshops.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a geotechnical or structural engineering environment.

• Strong grasp of soil mechanics and structural loading conditions.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting project documents and drawings.

• Excellent interpersonal skills; articulate communicator, skilled in both electronic and verbal communication, with a professional appearance and demeanor.

• Capable of planning, prioritizing, and managing issues, tasks, and deliverables from inception to completion.

• Proficient in computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications.

• Familiarity with computer systems and software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft applications, SLIDE, SLOPE-W, and Settle 3D.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.

• Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering is preferred.

• Certificate of Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
