This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Execute on-site and remote tasks for dealerships, authorized repairers, and technical centers throughout Europe.
• Minimize vehicle downtime and manage case backlogs effectively.
• Identify and resolve intricate technical issues, particularly those related to electrical systems, electronics, and multiplexing.
• Investigate both individual and systemic faults and implement appropriate containment and corrective measures.
• Utilize manufacturer diagnostic tools for guided diagnostics, software updates, reprogramming, and configuration tasks.
• Analyze wiring diagrams, repair manuals, and technical bulletins to ascertain root causes.
• Create technical reports, incident summaries, and action plans.
• Present analyses to engineering, quality assurance, and aftersales teams.
• Assist in the management of Technical Assistance cases, ensuring escalations and closures align with KPIs and service levels.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams at repair locations.
• Deliver on-site training and knowledge transfer to technicians.
• Document recurring issues and insights in knowledge bases.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and budget controls.
• Manage tools, equipment, and logistical aspects of missions.
• Track cases, time invested, and priorities efficiently.
• Demonstrated experience in the automotive sector in roles such as technical support, diagnostics, dealership workshop operations, field service, or technical assistance from manufacturers/importers.
• Strong field experience in resolving intricate electrical/electronic faults and vehicle operational challenges using manufacturer diagnostic platforms.
• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and supporting multiple sites or markets.
• Prior experience with technical documentation, case reporting, and technician support or training.
• European-scale field support experience and familiarity with multiple brands are significant advantages.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary automotive systems, including powertrains, chassis, ADAS, body electronics, CAN/LIN/FlexRay networks, and applicable high-voltage systems.
• Proficient in diagnostic methodologies, including fault-tree analysis, root-cause analysis, guided diagnostics, calibration procedures, and software updates.
• Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply wiring diagrams, repair procedures, and technical documentation from manufacturers.
• Solid understanding of aftersales processes and related performance metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in using manufacturer diagnostic tools and equipment, such as wiTECH POD and DiagBOX VCI.
• Skills in ECU programming, coding, configuration, software updates, and accessing secure gateways.
• Advanced proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and measurement instruments.
• Capability to interpret and troubleshoot wiring diagrams and network communications.
• Exceptional technical writing abilities.
• Comfortable using standard IT tools, remote support platforms, ticket/case management systems, and MS Office or similar software.
• A valid driving license is required for this field-based position.
