Field Auto Appraiser

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Inspect, assess, and evaluate vehicles involved in incidents.

• Estimate and ascertain repair costs for damaged automobiles in the field.

• Make decisions regarding repairs versus replacements and parts usage.

• Assess whether vehicles can be repaired or salvaged using industry-standard estimating software.

• Travel to various locations for vehicle inspections.

• Generate estimates utilizing estimating software.

• Collaborate directly with auto repair shops on supplemental repair processing.

• Provide additional estimates as necessary.

• Travel as needed.

• Carry out other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Licensure as dictated by state regulations.

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, including at least one (1) year in appraisal, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Strong knowledge of automobiles is essential.

• Capability to comprehend and utilize appraisal software.

• Proficiency with PCs, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent organizational skills are necessary.

• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

• Exceptional negotiation abilities are required.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

• Capability to meet or exceed performance competencies.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, and reach overhead.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold.

• Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.

• Ability to drive for up to 4 hours daily.

• Continual manual dexterity is required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, troubleshoot, solve issues, analyze situations, and exercise judgment and discretion.
