Field Application Specialist – Separations Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensure the effective application, implementation, qualification, and utilization of Sartorius’ Separation technologies portfolio (NFF, TFF, UF/DF).

• Offer product expertise, application insights, and technical support throughout the customer journey.

• Assist Sales with product positioning, presentations, demonstrations, and trials.

• Facilitate customer evaluations, application assessments, and technical consultations.

• Convert process requirements into product and workflow recommendations.

• Conduct application trials, validations, proof-of-concept activities, and customer training.

• Design, coordinate, and document customer-specific evaluation and onboarding plans and their outcomes.

• Diagnose customer processes and organize corrective actions.

• Provide application expertise throughout the opportunity development process.

• Offer technical insights, competitive positioning, and solution recommendations.

• Gather customer feedback, application trends, and competitive intelligence.

• Communicate recommendations with Product Management and relevant stakeholders.

• Assist in training Field Application Specialists and the Sales organization.

• Educate customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations.

• Collaborate with the Quality Department in investigating and resolving quality complaints.

• Submit monthly territory activity reports to management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience; Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience in process development, MSAT, bioprocessing within the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical industry, or CDMO manufacturing environment, or field experience in a similar role.

• At least 1 year of in-depth knowledge of TFF, UF/MF/DF, NFF, Viral Filtration, and Clarification products, with a proven track record in optimization and process scaling.

• Familiarity with life science application experiment technology.

• Capability to troubleshoot technical and application-related issues within customer environments.

• Practical technical skills, including conducting demos, trials, evaluations, and customer training activities.

• Ability to document application findings, trial outcomes, and technical recommendations in an organized manner.

• Proficiency in collaborating across Sales, Product Management, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.

• Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to translate customer needs into application solutions.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
