This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Deliver exceptional and responsive customer service to policyholders
• Review and modify first-party claims within designated authority limits
• Investigate policy coverage forms for claim resolution or rejection
• Perform basic claim investigations at both desk and field levels, assessing coverage, cause, and damages
• Reach out to policyholders to arrange inspections of damaged properties
• Travel to impacted properties to conduct prompt inspections
• Thoroughly inspect, photograph, sketch, and assess both damaged and undamaged areas
• Assess the total value of claims
• Use various software programs to establish loss parameters
• Set claim reserves in accordance with established guidelines
• Provide both verbal and written customer service support
• Record claim activities and potential subrogation
• Engage in training sessions and claim roundtable discussions
• Draft basic claim correspondence, including reservation-of-rights and denial letters
• Support catastrophe operations, which may involve additional hours or deployment to affected locations
• Assist with special projects or tasks as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred
• At least 2 years of field experience with an insurance company
• Proficient in using Xactimate
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Basic proficiency in computer usage
• Ability to read and understand instructions and correspondence
• Must hold and maintain required licenses
