This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Support and enhance the livestock and lifestyle product range.
• Boost product demand and market share by launching feed products and programs.
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities weekly to evaluate feeding programs and recommend solutions backed by Purina.
• Engage with horse and companion animal owners, primarily focusing on equine, to assess and recommend nutritional programs.
• Build a network within the livestock and lifestyle animal sectors to exchange best practices and create new business opportunities.
• Manage and expand an existing portfolio of business, nurturing established customer relationships and seizing immediate sales opportunities.
• Cultivate and uphold relationships with dealer/co-op teams and Purina specialists.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Purina's research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Organize and conduct educational events and on-site demonstrations.
• Work independently in a flexible, remote environment while managing territory, scheduling, and customer relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate product strategy, marketing initiatives, product launches, and field events.
• Participate in team meetings and sales training sessions.
• Implement sales strategies and work with colleagues for ongoing improvement.
• Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce and technology tools such as Power BI to document activities and guide business decisions.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• A bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred.
• Candidates who are nearing completion of their bachelor's degree or possess proven sales and industry experience may be considered.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• A strong passion for livestock care and agricultural products.
• Experience in customer service or sales support roles.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
• Willingness to travel within the designated territory.
• 5–10% overnight travel required along with daily travel in the assigned area.
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating market conditions and navigate a matrix-reporting structure.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
• Aptitude for building relationships and demonstrating leadership within team settings.
• Capacity to make multiple sales calls daily.
• Ability to engage in on-farm interactions, including animal evaluations, across all weather conditions.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in delivering effective public speaking presentations.
