This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Assist in the expansion and management of the livestock and lifestyle product portfolio.
• Foster product demand and cultivate relationships with dealers and co-ops.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Visit up to 25 farms or facilities each week to evaluate feeding programs and recommend Purina-supported solutions.
• Collaborate within the livestock and lifestyle animal sectors to exchange best practices and generate new business prospects.
• Present innovative feed products and programs to both new and existing clients.
• Oversee and expand an established client portfolio.
• Establish and sustain relationships with dealer/co-op teams and Purina specialists.
• Gain proficiency in Purina’s research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate educational events and onsite demonstrations.
• Operate independently in a flexible, remote field-based sales setting.
• Manage territory, scheduling, and customer relationships with guidance from a supervisor.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate product strategies, marketing initiatives, product launches, and field events.
• Engage in team meetings and participate in sales training.
• Execute sales strategies and work with colleagues for ongoing improvement.
• Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce and technology tools such as Power BI to document activities and support informed business decisions.
• Conduct multiple sales calls daily to customers and prospects.
• Participate in on-farm animal evaluations and develop business relationships.
• A Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred.
• Candidates nearing completion of a bachelor's degree or those with proven sales and industry experience may be considered.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• A strong passion for livestock care and agricultural products.
• Experience in customer service or sales support.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% overnight along with daily travel in the assigned region.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to evolving market conditions and navigate a matrix-reporting structure.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
• Proficiency in relationship-building and leadership within team environments.
• Capacity to conduct multiple sales calls daily.
• Ability to engage in on-farm interactions, including animal evaluations, across various weather conditions.
• Networking skills within the industry to connect producers.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Competence in delivering effective public speaking presentations.
