This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist in expanding the livestock and lifestyle product range
• Foster product demand and establish relationships with dealers and co-ops
• Provide customer support to equine and companion animal owners
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities each week to evaluate feeding programs and propose solutions backed by Purina
• Connect with professionals across livestock and lifestyle animal sectors to exchange best practices and cultivate business opportunities
• Introduce new and innovative feed products and programs to both new and existing clients
• Manage and enhance an established portfolio of business
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with dealer/co-op teams and Purina specialists
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Purina’s research, innovation, and commitment to sustainability
• Organize and facilitate educational events and on-site demonstrations
• Operate independently in a flexible, remote work setting while overseeing territory, scheduling, and customer relationships
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate product strategies, marketing efforts, product launches, and field events
• Engage in team meetings and participate in sales training sessions
• Execute sales strategies and work collaboratively with colleagues
• Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce and tools such as Power BI to document activities and guide business decisions
• Conduct multiple sales calls daily to both customers and prospects
• Deliver presentations in public speaking settings
• A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred
• Candidates nearing the completion of their bachelor’s degree or those with proven sales and industry experience may also be considered
• 0–3 years of relevant experience
• Strong enthusiasm for livestock care and agricultural products
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams
• Experience in customer service or sales support
• Willingness to travel 5–10% overnight and daily within the assigned area
• Display agility, integrity, and professionalism
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management
• Ability to build relationships and exhibit leadership in team settings
• Proficient in making multiple sales calls daily
• Competence in engaging in farm interactions, including animal assessments, under all weather conditions
• Networking ability within the industry
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Effective public speaking and presentation skills
