
Feed Sales Representative, Dairy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Support and expand the dairy young animal product line.
• Drive product demand and cultivate cooperative relationships.
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities each week.
• Evaluate feeding programs and suggest Purina-supported solutions.
• Network within the dairy sector to exchange best practices and generate new business opportunities.
• Introduce innovative feed products and programs to both new and existing clients.
• Manage and enhance an existing portfolio of business.
• Build and sustain relationships with Rockingham Co-op teams and Purina specialists.
• Develop a deep understanding of Purina’s research, innovation, and sustainability efforts.
• Organize and facilitate educational events and on-site demonstrations.
• Operate independently in a flexible, remote work setting.
• Oversee territory management, scheduling, and customer relationships with the support of a supervisor.
• Coordinate product strategies, marketing initiatives, product launches, and field events.
• Participate in team meetings and engage in sales training.
• Implement sales strategies and collaborate with colleagues.
• Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce and technology tools such as Power BI to track activities and inform business decisions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred.
• Candidates with an impending bachelor’s degree or demonstrated sales and industry experience may also be considered.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• A strong interest in Dairy Young Animal care and agricultural products.
• Experience in customer service or sales support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel within the designated territory.
• 5–10% overnight travel alongside daily travel in the assigned area.
• Ability to adapt to evolving market conditions and navigate a matrix-reporting structure.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
• Proficiency in relationship-building and leadership in team settings.
• Capacity to make multiple daily sales calls.
• Ability to engage in on-farm interactions, including animal evaluations, across all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Competence in delivering impactful public speaking presentations.
