
Feed Sales Representative – Cattle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in the development and expansion of the livestock and lifestyle product range.
• Enhance product demand and increase sales market share.
• Engage with cattle producers, small ruminant owners, and show customers, primarily focusing on cattle.
• Assess current feeding programs and suggest Purina-supported nutritional solutions.
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities each week.
• Build networks within the livestock and lifestyle animal sectors.
• Manage and expand an existing portfolio of clients.
• Establish and nurture relationships with dealer/co-op teams and Purina specialists.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of Purina's research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate educational events and on-site demonstrations.
• Work independently within a flexible, remote, field-based sales context.
• Coordinate product strategies, marketing campaigns, product launches, and field activities.
• Attend team meetings and participate in sales training sessions.
• Execute sales strategies and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce and technology tools such as Power BI.
• Document activities and contribute to informed business decisions.
• A Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred.
• Candidates nearing completion of their bachelor's degree or those with demonstrated sales and industry experience may be considered.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• A strong passion for livestock care and agricultural products.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Experience in customer service or sales support roles.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% overnight, in addition to daily travel within the designated area.
• Ability to adapt to evolving market conditions and manage a matrix-reporting framework.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management capabilities.
• Aptitude for building relationships and demonstrating leadership in team settings.
• Capacity to make multiple sales calls daily.
• Ability to engage in on-farm interactions, including evaluating animals, under various weather conditions.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
