
Feed Sales Representative – Cattle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Assist in the expansion and management of the livestock and lifestyle product portfolio.
• Promote product demand and establish relationships with dealers and co-ops.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities weekly to evaluate feeding programs and propose Purina-supported solutions.
• Connect within the livestock and lifestyle animal sectors to exchange best practices and develop new business opportunities.
• Present innovative feed products and programs to both new and existing clients.
• Manage and enhance an existing portfolio from day one.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with dealer/co-op teams and Purina experts.
• Acquire knowledge in Purina’s research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate educational events and on-site demonstrations.
• Work independently in a flexible remote setting while overseeing territory, scheduling, and customer relations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize, market, launch products, and execute field events.
• Engage in team meetings and sales training, apply sales strategies, and work alongside colleagues.
• Utilize CRM systems and technological tools to document activities and inform business choices.
• Make several sales calls daily to customers and prospects.
• Participate in on-farm animal assessments and connect with producers.
• A Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with an impending bachelor's degree or demonstrated sales and industry experience may be considered.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• A strong interest in livestock care and agricultural products.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in customer service or sales support roles.
• Willingness to travel 5-10% overnight plus daily travel within the assigned area.
• Demonstrates agility, integrity, and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
• Proven ability to build relationships and lead within team settings.
• Capacity to make multiple sales calls daily.
• Ability to engage in on-farm interactions, including animal evaluations, regardless of weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient public speaking and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and technological tools (e.g., Power BI).
