Feed Sales Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a Purina dealer or cooperative to pinpoint growth opportunities within current customer accounts.

• Launch new products, broaden species offerings, re-engage inactive customers, and enhance customer engagement initiatives.

• Identify, research, and connect with potential customers within targeted species segments.

• Establish a qualified sales pipeline through ride-alongs and customer interactions.

• Discover avenues to boost the adoption of Purina nutrition solutions.

• Analyze customer purchasing behaviors and formulate recommendations.

• Assess local markets, customer trends, and competitive activities.

• Create recommendations and insights that support territory growth strategies.

• Engage in farm visits, customer meetings, educational events, feed trials, and producer programs.

• Dedicate the majority of the internship to sales activities and structured business-growth projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field.

• Junior status is preferred.

• Proven leadership experience in school, academic, and industry-related organizations.

• Capability to lift 50 lbs. and work in farm environments.

• Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Must be able to reside within commuting distance of the assigned dealer/co-op location.

• Knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and feed management practices is preferred.

• Previous sales or customer-facing experience is preferred.

• Strong communication, writing, and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and execute projects independently.

• Collaborative attitude with a willingness to receive feedback and learn.

• Flexibility to adapt to evolving business environments and customer needs.
