This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist the advisory team by providing advisory support services related to financial management.
• Aid in the daily operations of federal financial management.
• Execute technical and general ledger accounting research and analysis.
• Compile federal financial statements along with accompanying notes.
• Analyze, interpret, and create regulatory and accounting guidance and procedural documents for financial management.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and validity of accounting transactions and functions, including fund balances with Treasury, accounts receivable, obligations, accrued expenditures, disbursements, appropriation refunds, reimbursable orders, earnings, collections, eliminations, and journal vouchers.
• Draft and review documents to confirm accuracy, validity, expenditure limitation, and correct accounting data.
• Maintain and balance subsidiary ledgers.
• Conduct reconciliations for un-liquidated contractual obligations, fund balances with Treasury, accounts receivable, unfilled customer orders, and other USSGL accounts.
• Candidates must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST must be completed prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; client approval may be necessary for degrees outside of Accounting.
• A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in accounting, financial management, data interpretation and analysis, and developing business requirements for a financial accounting team or in a comparable environment at a Certified Financial Officer (CFO) level or similar financial/budgeting context.
• Familiarity with Federal accounting principles and standards is essential.
• Understanding of Federal procurement concepts, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), is required.
• Awareness of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act, Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), Government Management Reform Act (GMRA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars and bulletins regarding financial accounting and internal and system controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and exercise independent judgment, wisdom, and initiative.
