Farm Business Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with agricultural clients.

• Conduct visits to farms to assess business performance, technical challenges, and potential areas for enhancement.

• Perform technical and financial analyses to pinpoint strengths, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Utilize Promar and broader industry benchmarking data to deliver clear, objective insights.

• Provide actionable recommendations that enhance profitability, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience.

• Assist clients with nutrition, fertility, forage and soil management, livestock housing, farm infrastructure, environmental compliance, organic production, and diversification.

• Aid farmers in evaluating business performance, strategizing for the future, and making informed decisions.

• Cultivate and expand an individual client base over time.

• Collaborate with colleagues within Promar and across the broader business.

• Engage in team meetings, company events, agricultural shows, conferences, and industry networking opportunities.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Capacity to understand client needs and influence key decision-makers.

• Authentic interest in farm business performance, technical improvement, and long-term sustainability.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage one’s own workload in a field-based setting.

• Confidence in utilizing data, insights, and practical knowledge to aid decision-making.

• Proactive in fostering client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

• Proficient digital skills, including comfort with Microsoft Office and other business systems.

• Valid UK driving licence and readiness to travel to farms, client meetings, and industry events.

• Prior experience in agriculture, farm consultancy, technical sales, nutrition, farm business management, or another client-facing agricultural position would be advantageous.

• A qualification in agriculture, agriscience, or a business-related field would be beneficial; relevant knowledge, credibility, and a strong interest may also be demonstrated through diverse backgrounds.
