This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Facilitate sessions with families and support systems for a designated caseload of adult patients and their loved ones.
β’ Conduct sessions for couples and partners where the primary support comes from a spouse or partner.
β’ Evaluate the influence of the support system on the continuation or disruption of disordered behaviors.
β’ Provide psychoeducation regarding eating disorders, co-occurring conditions, and the treatment model.
β’ Identify and address accommodations related to eating disorder behaviors and co-occurring conditions.
β’ Coach support individuals in practical skills.
β’ Tackle diet culture and weight discussions within the family system.
β’ Assist patients and families in preparing the home food environment for step-down and discharge.
β’ Facilitate interpersonal and family-focused skills groups as part of the program curriculum.
β’ Support patients in applying interpersonal skills in discussions with family members, partners, and support systems.
β’ Contribute to programming directed at caregivers as the program evolves.
β’ Collaborate with the Primary Therapist to ensure alignment of family work with the patient's case formulation and treatment goals.
β’ Provide clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary rounds and program meetings.
β’ Maintain communication with external providers to ensure continuity of care.
β’ Work alongside the treatment team to evaluate progress and determine the need for a higher level of care, step-down, or discharge.
β’ Assist families in coordinating effective discharge and aftercare plans.
β’ Document family session content and clinical observations in the electronic medical record.
β’ Participate in weekly family therapy meetings, required program training, fidelity monitoring, supervision, and consultation.
β’ Perform additional duties as assigned.
β’ Psychologist or master's level therapist (required).
β’ Independently licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT (required).
β’ Over 1 year of clinical experience post-degree in delivering family or couples therapy (strongly preferred).
β’ Experience in treating eating disorders (preferred).
β’ Background in treating OCD, anxiety, PTSD, and/or depression (preferred).
β’ Experience in PHP, IOP, residential, or inpatient settings.
β’ Working knowledge of the conceptualization of eating disorder treatment and co-occurring conditions.
β’ Ability to engage with adult patients and their support systems while balancing family involvement with patient autonomy and consent.
β’ Capacity to identify family accommodations and coach support individuals to withdraw them without escalating conflict.
β’ Ability to maintain a validating stance towards caregivers while setting clear expectations.
β’ Comfort in delivering both family sessions and group programming.
β’ Practices within a weight-inclusive framework.
β’ Adopts an "all foods fit" approach to clinical nutrition.
β’ Operates within defined curriculum and fidelity expectations rather than an idiosyncratic model.
β’ Seeks and utilizes supervision and consultation.
