This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver expert field-based patient education and support throughout the Rett treatment journey.
• Act as a primary contact for Rett families regarding clinical education inquiries related to disease state and product knowledge.
• Collaborate with caregivers, families, healthcare professionals as necessary, and local communities.
• Assist patients in successfully initiating and maintaining therapy.
• Provide education on disease state, product information, and ongoing therapy management in an easily understandable format.
• Interact with patients and caregivers in person, via telephone, and online before, during, and after therapy initiation.
• Assess individual needs of patients and caregivers and deliver suitable education and resources throughout their journey.
• Support the designated territory while partnering with Marketing, Sales, Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and other internal teams.
• Share educational opportunities with cross-functional colleagues.
• Offer expert insights to internal stakeholders to aid in the development of tools, resources, disease-state education, and therapy management strategies.
• Maintain deep knowledge of disease state, product offerings, and Acadia Customer Support Programs, including Hub-related and Patient Assistance Programs and ambassador speaker initiatives.
• Facilitate, lead, and present caregiver speaker programs as necessary.
• Attend community events within the assigned territory.
• Provide reactive in-service education to physician offices regarding the Family Support Educator role and patient support resources.
• Encourage dialogue between caregivers and healthcare providers.
• Identify and pursue leadership opportunities within the Family Support Educator team and cross-functional collaborations.
• Offer mentorship and development options for new Family Support Educators and interested colleagues from other functions.
• Recognize training and development needs related to Patient Support Services and the broader organization.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and Acadia values.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on life sciences; RN, MSN, or MBA is advantageous.
• Family Support Educator: minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Patient Access, National Accounts, or Specialty Pharmacy.
• At least 2 years of experience in Patient Support, Education, or Leadership roles.
• Senior Family Support Educator: 7+ years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Patient Access, National Accounts, or Specialty Pharmacy.
• Senior level: extensive experience and technical expertise in Patient Engagement.
• Senior level: at least 4 years of experience in Patient Support, Education, or Leadership roles.
• Experience in Rare Diseases is highly preferred.
• Expertise in Product Launch, Advocacy, Medicaid, and Medicare is strongly preferred.
• Strong background and understanding of the healthcare industry's field environment.
• Proven track record of increased responsibilities.
• History of successful collaboration across multiple functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority.
• Experience working with provider offices, patient assistance programs, or similar pharmaceutical support programs is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Patient-centric mindset with emotional intelligence and empathy.
• Strong empathetic listening skills.
• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to manage expenses within allocated budgets.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adjust as needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, depending on the territory.
• Compliance with additional local, state, and federal vaccination requirements for in-person field activities and events.
• Ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.
