Family Medicine Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across 1–4 specialties

• Perform Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC coding

• Calculate ProFee E/M levels

• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest available specificity

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS codes

• Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment

• Assess documentation importance and reimbursement impact

• Adhere to AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

• Comply with internal policies, procedures, privacy, and security regulations

• Safeguard confidential information, including Personal Health Information

• Engage in company-provided training and education

• Execute additional duties as assigned by leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess certification from either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience

• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance

• Proficient knowledge and experience with EMR and billing systems

• Access to phone, dependable internet connection, and up-to-date CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references

• Maintain ongoing productivity and accuracy levels of 95% or higher

• Uphold a quality score of 95% or greater

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

• Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills

• Capability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently from home in coding tasks

• Capacity to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily

• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
