Fair Housing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide support to clients in analyzing fair housing matters

• Compose correspondence for residents, fair housing advocacy organizations, and opposing legal representatives

• Create agreements pertaining to reasonable accommodations and modifications

• Examine lease agreements to ensure compliance with fair housing regulations

• Write opinion letters

• Collaborate with property owners and managers to mitigate potential fair housing risks

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

• Active license to practice law in California

• 1-2 years of experience in landlord-tenant and/or fair housing law

• Exceptional skills in legal writing and negotiation

• Capacity to analyze facts, develop insights, and formulate responses under tight deadlines

• Ability to make independent judgments and think creatively

• Strong interpersonal abilities

• Candidates must be residents of California

• Preferred: Experience in both fair housing and landlord-tenant law

• Preferred: Experience with Pro Law

• Preferred: Background in writing articles for industry publications

• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish
