Facility Coding Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough audits of medical records and coding information from ASC procedures to guarantee precision and adherence to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.

• Detect and document coding inaccuracies, discrepancies, and possible compliance issues, offering clear and constructive feedback to coding personnel and clinical teams.

• Work collaboratively with billing, compliance, and clinical departments to address coding inconsistencies and aid in the execution of corrective action plans.

• Remain updated on modifications in coding regulations, payer policies, and healthcare laws to ensure audit methodologies align with the most recent standards.

• Compile detailed audit reports and present findings to management, suggesting process enhancements to improve coding accuracy and reimbursement results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.

• At least 5 years of experience in medical coding, ideally within an Ambulatory Surgery Center or a comparable outpatient environment.

• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and their corresponding guidelines.

• Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and the False Claims Act.

• Proficient in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) and coding audit software.

• Preferred: Certified Coding Auditor (CCA) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) certification.

• Preferred: Experience with ASC billing and reimbursement procedures.

• Preferred: Background in healthcare quality assurance or compliance auditing.

• Preferred: Advanced understanding of payer-specific coding and billing requirements.
