This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Act as the organization's representative at various stakeholder meetings, coalitions, government sessions, and other forums on behalf of senior leadership.
• Coordinate local, county, state, and federal government relations and legislative initiatives in collaboration with the CEO and Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the external relations strategy.
• Monitor legislative and political developments to inform engagement strategies.
• Prepare leadership for meetings and align organizational policy stances with the Leadership and the Board.
• Develop talking points, stakeholder profiles, meeting briefs, issue summaries, presentations, and recommendations for executives.
• Serve as the staff lead and facilitator for the organization’s Board Advisory Group.
• Sustain existing relationships and forge new partnerships to promote strategic objectives and policy priorities.
• Monitor the growth and impact of partnerships.
• Utilize insights and needs from external stakeholders to inform strategic communications and public messaging.
• Provide assistance and guidance to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and relevant committees.
• Represent government relations during monthly internal leadership gatherings.
• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to guide organizational strategic decisions.
• Execute other related tasks as assigned.
• Must be a resident of Colorado.
• A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, public health, health policy, political science, social science, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent work experience.
• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement.
• In-depth knowledge and comprehension of key aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and health insurance exchanges.
• Familiarity with Connect for Health Colorado’s stakeholder organizations.
• Outstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication abilities (both verbal and written).
• Proven track record of successful facilitation, collaboration, and coordination of key stakeholder discussions.
• Capacity to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics.
• Experience and confidence in public speaking and presenting to large audiences.
• Ability to manage diverse perspectives from both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong project management capabilities, including overseeing multiple complex projects with competing deadlines.
• Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.
