Experienced Nuclear Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct internal hazard assessments (fire, internal flooding, dropped loads, pipe rupture) as well as external hazard assessments (earthquakes, climatic events).

• Execute functional safety analyses, focusing on evaluations of loss of functions/equipment and conducting Fukushima studies.

• Create accident studies, probabilistic safety assessments, and traditional risk analyses.

• Write sections of the Safety Analysis Report (SAR or PCSR).

• Evaluate the impact of modifications on safety assessments.

• Coordinate hazard-related initiatives across various client organizations.

• Report to the project team and assist in tracking and managing outstanding technical issues.

• Prepare hazard-related justification notes for submission to French or international Safety Authorities.

• Depending on experience, provide technical assistance and oversee teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in General Engineering or Nuclear Safety Engineering.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in conducting safety studies within the nuclear sector or performing risk analyses.

• A rigorous, adaptable, and independent working style.

• Strong interpersonal abilities.

• Exceptional analytical and synthesis capabilities.

• Outstanding written communication skills.

• Familiarity with the operation of PWR/EPR plants or incident and accident management is advantageous.

• Knowledge of methodologies and/or Doctrine documents (e.g., SAR, PCSR, RGE, STE) is beneficial.

• Proficiency in English is essential.
