Experienced Disability Support Worker – Lifestyle Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Assist individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to lead fulfilling and autonomous lives.

• Aid in daily routines and household chores.

• Provide support with meal preparation, shopping, and financial management.

• Foster community involvement and encourage social interactions.

• Assist with appointments and recreational activities.

• Help individuals cultivate skills and reach personal objectives.

• Advocate for wellbeing, autonomy, and choice.

• Keep accurate documentation and liaise with the broader team.

• Work scheduled shifts in services that operate 24/7.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in New Zealand providing support to individuals with disabilities or in a similar community-based support position.

• Experience in working autonomously and assisting individuals with complex needs.

• Background in behaviour support, mental health, youth services, social work, or trauma-informed care.

• A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a comparable qualification or experience).

• Possession of a valid New Zealand driver's licence.

• Excellent communication skills coupled with a person-centred approach.

• Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand; visa sponsorship is not offered.

• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, which includes checks of professional references, right-to-work verification, driver's licence verification, criminal background checks, a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing, ACC history review, and verification of qualifications or certifications.
