Experience Design Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Employ human-centered design methodologies to define challenges, identify trends, uncover opportunities, and visualize potential solutions.

• Generate and explore design alternatives through brainstorming sessions, sketching, workshops, and quick concept development.

• Assist in rapid design iterations for testing and validation purposes.

• Develop user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes utilizing Figma, Figma Make, or comparable tools.

• Aid product teams in evaluating and prioritizing opportunities, limitations, and features.

• Contribute to the development of responsive web and mobile experiences, enterprise applications, analytics dashboards, and platform workflows.

• Help enhance and maintain design systems, component libraries, and UX standards.

• Present design ideas, research results, and suggestions through visual and verbal narratives.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and other business stakeholders.

• This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

• Anticipated start date: May/June 2027.

• Capability to work collaboratively and maintain flexibility with product, engineering, data science, marketing, and design teams.

• Strong enthusiasm for human-centered design principles.

• Skill in managing projects that range from extensive initiatives to straightforward requests.

• Knowledge of diverse design and research methodologies and processes.

• Experience working in an Agile product development setting.

• Proficient in effectively communicating ideas and contributions.

• Familiarity with design software like Figma and collaborative platforms such as MURAL.

• Preferred: experience in contributing to design systems, pattern libraries, frontend development (HTML/CSS/React/TypeScript), or AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Figma Make.

• Must possess reliable internet with a minimum download speed of 50 MB and an upload speed of 5 MB.

• Must have a dedicated, private home workspace equipped with a suitable desk and seating.
