This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Build and nurture senior-level relationships with clients, agencies, and partners to drive and enhance advertising revenue.
• Create and present cross-platform programs and proposals aimed at integrated selling and revenue expansion.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of Media & Entertainment accounts and potential clients.
• Generate new advertising business while also strengthening existing client relationships.
• Oversee the advertising sales process from prospecting and client discovery to proposal creation, negotiation, and closing deals.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the advertising market, including categories, business dynamics, and trends.
• Positively and enthusiastically represent The Atlantic brand.
• Identify new business and renewal opportunities by leveraging campaign data and insights.
• Lead account discussions with internal partners to assess performance, craft strategies, and act on optimization and revenue growth opportunities.
• Spot opportunities across custom content, video, events, screenings, sponsorships, print, digital, audio, and new media formats.
• Identify gaps, generate innovative ideas, and expand The Atlantic’s presence within the media and entertainment sector.
• Create new revenue streams through proactive prospecting, outreach, and relationship building.
• Act as a prominent representative of The Atlantic in Los Angeles and throughout the media and entertainment industry.
• Report directly to the VP, Partnerships.
• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in media sales.
• Proven success in driving advertising revenue and selling innovative creative solutions that go beyond traditional advertising.
• Strong relationships with both agency and client stakeholders in the Media & Entertainment sector.
• Demonstrated ability to own and grow an advertising business portfolio, develop new accounts, and convert client relationships and ideas into revenue.
• Capacity to be proactive, take initiative, and work autonomously.
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to craft and present persuasive arguments through both verbal and written communication.
• Profound knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for media, entertainment, and the cultural discussions shaping the industry.
• Skill in developing new business, building relationships from the ground up, and creating opportunities.
• Ability to think strategically and pursue ambitious ideas.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for journalism, culture, media, and the ideas influencing the world.
• Located in Los Angeles.
• Successful completion of reference checks.
